SWRI Caithness Federation

Federation meetings are held 3 times a year:
March - Assembly Rooms, Wick
June - Village Halls throughout the county
November - British Legion Hall, Thurso

Bulb Shows are held each side of the county - in Wick Assembly Rooms the first Saturday in March and in the west side in the British Legion Hall, Thurso the second Saturday in March.

Our Show Committee has a marquee at the County Show held each year in July alternating between Wick and Thurso. We have competitions both in baking and handcrafts. There is also a sales table selling scones and pancakes etc. We find this a good showcase to promote SWRI.

An SWRI quiz is held each year with the East side Institutes competing one year and the West members the next. Caithness members also have bowling competitions both at local and area level. Various classes take place during the year where members can learn different types of crafts. In the summer most Institutes hold their annual outing either to a place of interest in the county or some venture further afield.
