The Watchword's Home and Country

The watchword's Home and Country,
The broader, fuller life,
That draws within its circle
The mother, maid and wife.

When women's tasks seem endless,
And heaviest our load,
Hope spells for us a watchword,
To help us on our road.
Chorus
- Verse 2

We link up high and lowly,
We number young and old,
The sad or glad our comrades,
Are welcomed to our fold.
Chorus
- Verse 3
-
A band and bond of sisters,
We strive our ends to gain,
Our gifts of love and service,
Enriched return again.
Chorus

Then bring our ranks together,
Make straight our glorious way,
For mothers of the future
And women of to-day.

This Fast Changing World
To the tune of Westering Home
- Chorus:
-
In this fast changing world we will try to be true
To the values and skills that our fore-fathers knew.
With the best of the old and the best of the new,
We'll take pride in our Home and our Country
- Verse
-
Women are finding some new parts to play
Broader the path though less tranquil the way,
But friendship and caring for ever will stay
In the heart of our Home and our Country

Rural Conference Song
Music Jupiter by G. Holst
There's a treasure in this land of ours, however far we roam.
In the constant heart of rural life are family and home.
There's a heritage of knowledge passed to us by those before,
Lives of love, work and wisdom, a rich and varied store.
Though the days go full and faster, through changes year to year,
This is ours to guard and care for, to give and to share.
What have we alone to offer each as a single leaf?
But the leaves make spreading branches to grow and increase.
We can weather storm and challenge when our tree is tall and strong.
Let us build for the future, new friends may join our song.
Our voices join in unison to say what may be done,
And the torch is ours to carry on into the years to come.
