Welcome to the Scottish Women's Rural Institutes

SWRI Lochaber Federation

Ardgour | Arisaig | Fort William | Inverlochy | Morar | Spean Bridge

Lochaber is the newest Federation in SWRI but has two of the oldest Institutes. It was formed in 1987 when the Lochaber Group broke away from Inverness-shire & the Islands Federation This proved to be very good for the area as it allowed members to participate in more of the SWRI activities and classes that are available without having to travel such great distances. Although a relatively small Federation, the monthly meetings are well attended and many interesting topics are covered.

If any ladies in the area or new to the area feel that they would like to join one of the Institutes they would be made most welcome. The Institutes meet between September and May each year.

Our Institutes are:
ARDGOUR - Meets in Ardgour Memorial Hall on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7.30 p.m.
ARISAIG - Meets in Astley Hall, Arisaig on 3rd Thursday of the month at 8.00 p.m.
