Procedure for Craft Classes

The Craft Class is expected to last 8 hours. The first 4 hours tuition can be split into two daytime sessions or can be held in an evening. Members then practise the work until the second period of 4 hours tuition, which is held approximately two weeks later.

Headquarters is responsible for and will re-imburse the Federation for the cost of the venue, food for the teacher and one Federation representative, if necessary, and any expenses incurred for mileage in chauffeuring teacher. Teachers will be sent a claim form direct from Headquarters for re-imbursement of their fee, travel and, if home hospitality is not possible, overnight accommodation.

Federations charge each member attending a fee of £20 which is forwarded to Headquarters prior to the class. The usual class size is 12 pupils.

During August/September Guild Secretaries in the Federations are sent a circular about arranging a Craft Class or 2 Day School, with an Application Form. When applications are received from Federations every effort will be made to secure a teacher in the subject and on the dates requested.

Once confirmed by the teacher, the Federation will be informed of who the teacher, with name, address and telephone number. A list of requirements for the class together with a Registration Form and 'Actual' Expenses Claim Form will be sent to Guild Secretaries.

The Teacher will also be sent confirmation giving the Federation H & H Guild Secretary's name, address and telephone number and enclosing the appropriate Claim Form.
