SWRI Tests

SWRI members can have their work in various skills assessed on a national level by taking part in the Test Scheme. Tests are offered in a range of handcrafts, cookery skills, floral art, gardening and the arts of photography and calligraphy.

Test schedules can be obtained from SWRI Headquarters. For test purposes SWRI identifies 6 areas in Scotland and various tests are offered in different areas in Spring and Autumn on a 3 year cycle. National judges have been appointed for each discipline to ensure that the same standards are applied throughout the country. Marks are awarded and members may qualify for Honours, First, Second or Third Class certificates.

Members who have attained the requisite number of Honours or First Class certificates may apply to enter tests to become SWRI judges, demonstrators or teachers.
